Alicia empezaba a cansarse de estar allí sentada con su hermana a orillas del río sin tener nada que hacer. De vez en cuando se asomaba al libro que estaba leyendo su hermana, pero era un libro sin ilustraciones ni diálogos, "y ¿de qué sirve un libro -se preguntaba Alicia- que no tiene diálogos ni dibujos?".
